Remarks:
4th Earl of Dunbar. He was the first to assume the territorial style of earl of Dunbar, from his castle of Dunbar. He was justiciary of Lothian and keeper of Berwick. He is also called earl of Lothian. He attended William the Lion to Lincoln in 1200 to do homage for his English lands, and also Alexander II to York in June, 1221, on the occasion of AlexanderÕs marriage to Joan, sister of Henry III. He died a monk.
