Remarks:
Joshua Hall married twice.

His first wife, probably called Alice, and her surviving children were Joshua, born 1686 died 1770 married 1711 Huddersfield Parish Church to Martha Mellor. He lived at Golcar and then moved to Milnsbridge. Alice born 1690 married Joshua Peel then Joseph born 1692 and William born 1694.

Then there are no more children until after the marriage to Sarah Ingle, 2nd February 1717 in Huddersfield Parish Church when Joshua was 65 years old. They were married 12 years and had 5 children.

The first child was Mary born 1717 and married Benjamin Byram of Dalton. Then John born 1719 married Martha Hellewell of Lindley in Huddersfield Parish Church. He died in 1769 and his wife married again John Wood, in 1777 in Huddersfield Parish Church.

Benjamin born 1722 was a Bachelor Gentleman of Wentworth House, Wath on Dearne.

Abraham and Jacob were twins, and Jacob died in infancy but Abraham lived at Golcar, married a woman called Elizabeth (Betty) and died in 1803. His Gravestone is evidently mentioned in Tomlinson's History of Huddersfield and Ann Hartley of Sowerby Bridge is evidently buried in the same grave.

When Mary was born Joshua's oldest son already had 5 children, the eldest was 10.

According to the Will of Joshua, he cuts all the children of his first marriage off with 1/- each. They were all grown up and married before he married Sarah Ingle.
