Remarks:
King Richard II was his godfather. On 26 July 1406 Richard was knighted, and from August until December 1406 was England's Ambassador to Denmark. On 1 May 1414 in Parliament he was created Earl of Cambridge. For this creation there is neither Charter nor Patent yet the title was transmissible to his legal heirs.
He married Anne Mortimer without the consent of either parents so requiring a Papal dispensation to remain married to her. They became had two children. After his wife's death he married Maud de Clifford the divorced wife of John Nevill, 6th Lord Latimer.
With several other noblemen, Richard conspired to depose King Henry V and replace him with the Earl of March but was attainted and executed at Southampton.
