succeeded to the title of «i»3rd Lord Basset of Drayton [E., 1295]«/i» on 25 February 1342/43. He fought in the Battle of Bordeaux on 8 January 1355/56, in the army of the Black Prince. He distinguished himself in the various wars with France. He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1368. On 30 October 1386 he was a deponent in the Scrope and Grosvenor controversy.
