William died before 1720 and John, his younger brother
succeeded to Brockloch after his father’s decease. On 15th June
1733, he had sasine for the thirty shilling land of Brockloch.
He married Helen Craufurd and had issue: John, their only
son, died in infancy; their three daughters, co-heiresses, were
named Marion, Jane and Margaret.

In 1989 Lt Col Alexander John Clark-Kennedy from Knockgray Carsphairn wrote a 'Lament for Brochloch' as the farm had been sold to the Forestry Commision.
