Remarks:
FOR SOME YEARS AFTER THEIR MARRIAGE THEY REMAINED IN SCITUATE, AND THERE ALL THEIR CHILDREN WERE BORN AND BAPTIZED BY REV. NATHANIEL EELLS OF THE SECOND CHURCH OF SCITUATE, NOW THE FIRST CHURCH OF NORWELL. ON 3 APR 1730 PETER SILVESTER OF SCITUATE BOUGHT FROM JOSEPH CUSHING OF SCITUATE FOR 11, 5 ACRES OF LAND, BEING LOT 322 IN THE SECOND DIVISION OF SCITUATE COMMON. THIS WAS IN ADDITION TO LAND THAT HE ALREADY OWNED. A FEW YEARS LATER, HOWEVER, HE SOLD OUT HIS SCITUATE HOLDINGS AND MOVED TO LEICESTER, WHERE HE LIVED THE REMAINDER OF HIS LIFE, AND WAS ONE OF THE SELECTMEN IN 1737. HIS HOUSE WAS ON THE EASTERLY SLOPE OF MEETINGHOUSE HILL, NEAR THE CENTRE OF THE TOWN. IN LEICESTER THE DESCENDANTS OF PETER SILVESTER INCREASED TO LARGE NUMBERS, BUT THROUGH DEATHS AN REMOVALS THE SURNAME IS NOW EXTINCT IN THAT TOWN. (NEHGR OCT 1931 P. 367)
