WIlliam McCall Macmillan lived at Lamloch and was Justice of the Peace, and made a speech at the first Clam Macmillan Society Gathering in Glasgow in 1892.

Rev. Hugh MacMillan, D.D., LLD., occupied the chair, and the hall was crowded. The Chairman's Address was worthy of his great literary reputation, and speeches were also delivered by Messrs. William M. C. MacMillan, J.P., of Lamloch, Daniel MacMillan, presicknf, Rev. Donald MacMillan, M.A., and Mr John Mackay, Kingston, Secretary, Clan Mackay, who responded for the kindred societies. The after part of the evening was devoted to music and dancing, and altogether the MacMillan Gathering was one of the most successful and enjoyable of the season.
