Yeoman of Knarr and Bridge House.
He bought Bridge House on 23rd June 1718 from John Taylor of Matley, the same house were Henry Platt (1793 - 1842) first worked as a blacksmith/machine maker.
Extract from will of Robert Winterbottom (WCW/Supra/C409/71):
'Also I Give and Devise unto my Son John Winterbottom all that my Lands
and Premisses Called and Known by
the name of Bridghouse which I now Occupy and Dwell upon (that is to
say) the House wherein I now Dwell
the shop, the Barn, the Shippon, the Out Shut the Dye House, the Upper
Meddow, and Lower Meddow the Slade Lands
the Black Bank The Higher Lane, and Lower Lane, the ffield at Door, the
Artwart, the Pingott, and the Gardens and
ffoulds, together with all and Every of their Appurtenances for ever,
and to his Heirs and Assignes'
