Remarks:
He was orphaned at the age of 2 (his father had disappeared on a business trip and his mother died of typhoid). He was brought up by his 14 year old sister Afanasia, and then with other families where he learnt to do many things such as tailoring.
He joined the army and was in Vladivostock before the war. During the war he was initiallly sent to the Front, but then recalled in order to work as a military policeman dealing with Chechen issues in Almata in Kazakstan. He lived there with his wife Nina where he built a house and planted a cherry orchard.
In the 1950s, he returned to Moscow and had a flat in Belorusskaya.
He believes that he had a cousin also called Mikael Reshetov who was in France during and after the war.
