From November 1920, he was the commander of the 3rd Cavalry Corps, participated in the defeat of the troops of P.N. Wrangel. He commanded the Alexander Group of Forces during the suppression of the movement of N.I. Makhno. In 1925-1930 he was assistant commander of the Ukrainian, Belorussian, Moscow, and North Caucasian military districts. Member of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee, Central Executive Committee of the USSR, delegate to the 11th Congress of the Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks). He was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir IV degree, St. Anna II, III, IV degrees, St. Stanislav II and III degrees; two Orders of the Red Banner, honorary revolutionary weapons, a gold watch with the inscription: "To the Hero of the Urals from the All-Russian Central Executive Committee".
