Remarks:
He was a Breton, recruited by Henry I early in his reign. He was granted the honor of Warin the Sheriff, in Oswestry, Shropshire, after the death of Hugh FitzWarin. He was a benefactor of Haughmond Abbey, Shropshire, and Castle Acre Priory, Norfolk. He gave Sprole Church in Norfolk to Saint-Florent de Saumur. He was also a benefactor of Norwich Cathedral, to which he and his wife gave the manor of Easton.
