Remarks:
Lord of the Isles and Atholl; Abbot of Dunkeld. He was killed in battle in 965. The abbacy of Dunkeld appears to have been hereditary in Crinan's family, so it may be that Crinan was the son of this earlier abbot of Dunkeld. There is, however, no evidence to support this possible identification.
