Remarks:
Lord of Kendal. He was granted the barony of Kendal after 1086. His name is also written Taillebois. He was a prominent administrtor throught the reigh of William the Conqueror and well into that of William Rufus. His second wife, Lucy, was an important heiress whose inheritance formed the basis of the land Ivo held in Domesday Book. This fief was the honor of Bolingbroke. It was inherited by LucyÕs two sons of her later marriages, whereas IvoÕs own barony of Kendal went eventually to his great grandson, William FitzGilbert de Lancaster. His parentage is not known.
