Son of Edward Brand Scallon and Frances Bradley Scallon, Malvern College, b. 1891.
Upper IV—Modern I. School Prefect. Head of House.
Rancher in the Argentine.
Great War, Trooper King Edward's Horse.

'When war was declared he immediately gave up his post on a cattle estancia in the Argentine and returned home. Refusing a commission he enlisted as a Trooper in King Edward's Horse, and was killed in action in the trenches after this force had volunteered to fill up the gaps made in a part of the Canadian contingent. His unhesitating response to the call of duty came as no surprise to those who knew him here. He was the third son of Mr. F. B. Scallon, for many years a master and secretary of the College, and the sympathy of all Malvernians goes out to his father and mother in their great loss.' (Malvernian, Jun 1915).

He was killed by a shell blast on the 23rd May. A friend later wrote to his parents: “I can assure you that his death was instantaneous and that he was doing his duty at the time.”
