'Reginald Daw was at School a quiet steady boy, of more than average ability. He was a very useful football player and helped to win the Football Cup for his House. His legal attainments were very considerable, and it says much for his patriotism that he lost no time in re-joining the Inns of Court O T.C. when war broke out. His subsequent record speaks for itself. He went to the front in August 1915, and was recently mentioned in despatches. He was killed on August 25th, being struck in the back with a piece of shell; he became unconscious at once and was removed to a dressing station, where he died the next morning.' He was killed in action at Delville Wood.
